Rough night?

[Here we have a redhead laying on his side on the floor; it would appear that he was sleeping, but he is stirring now. He scrunches his nose slightly before slowly opening his eyes, a frown quickly taking its place on his features.]

Hikaru...

[He sits up on the floor, only to notice that the bed he was expecting to be behind him isn't there. This causes his frown to deepen as he takes a better look at the room to find that he doesn't recognize it at all.

This, of course, prompts a ~~bit of whining~~ dignified objection.] Hikaru~ we agreed there weren't any consequences to that game! Ugh, this isn't even a good prank. Where the hell did he put me?

[Okay, now Kaoru snickers just a tiny bit before blowing on Luke's ear again.]

[ Forget that last bit-- Kaoru is pure evil. Luke lets go in order to flop onto his stomach with a keening sound. ]

Go 'wayyyy...

[He prefers the term 'deviously crafty.' Luke's new reaction just sparks even more intrigue and amusement, however, as he leans in a little closer to whisper into Luke's ear.] Mm...? Are you sure you really want that?

Huh..? [ Both hands fumble uselessly for his missing jacket, only to end up pinned underneath as he squiggles and squirms in the opposite direction. Kaoru gets a dejected whine as Luke gives up trying to sleep and blinks groggily. This doesn't look anything like the inn he was expecting. ] ...Guy?

Noooooot exactly. [Kaoru pauses for a moment, as though he's thinking or maybe even a little offended. When he speaks again, his voice is not nearly as teasing, but instead kind of serious and a little sad.] Does this mean you don't remember last night.

[ Yeah, definitely not Guy. Or anyone else he recognizes, for that matter. That alone is reason enough for Luke to try (and fail) scurrying sideways, landing square on his nose briefly before bolting backwards into a wall. Noticing that he's unarmed, Luke jabs a less-than-menacing finger at Kaoru instead. ] L-Last night? What are you talking about? And just who are you?

[Well, now that Luke is awake, he's making sure to keep all of his real facial expressions out of view; instead, he looks kind of meek and fragile. He brings one hand up to his mouth as his lip trembles slightly and glances off to the side.] Ah... I guess that it really was like that for you...

Uh.. W-well, I... [ It takes several long moments for Luke to react, though for him it was just shy of forever. Luke worries his bottom lip as his eyebrows shoot up, then down, his entire face scrunching up into a mixture of guilt-ridden surprise. And in grand display of his cognitive abilities: ] Huh??

[Closes his eyes and narrowly avoids a slip of showing his amusement before glancing up at him through his eyelashes, seemingly shy and defenseless as he sort of draws his shoulders forward.] I trusted you... you promised me that it wasn't like that. I... I really believed it was something special to you, too...

[ Any sign that this was teasing goes unnoticed by Luke, who is just all kinds of confused right now. As far as he could remember last night was the same as any other. But obviously this person thinks he's done something, so maybe he did...? Luke gives Kaoru quick once-over, head tilted askew as he scoots forward hesitating to comfort him. ] I..I'm sorry...! If something happened last night, maybe a reminded would help me to remember?

[Oh, this is going even better than he'd expected; Kaoru mentally files away that this person may just be more fun to torment than Tamaki for future reference.] A reminder? But... but how do I know that you won't just take advantage of me again...?

[He shifts nervously, grasping Luke's wrist lightly and leaning. There is an obvious blush dusting his cheeks and he's looking at him demurely, avoiding looking in Luke's eyes as though he's nervous.]

Take... advantage...? [ Wait. Waitwaitwait! Wait a minute! Was this guy seriously trying to claim that he went and did whatever it was that people did when they say "take advantage of"?! He had an idea of what that might entail, but how was that supposed to work when they were both guys? ] H-hang on! There's no way that I-- that we-- I know I wouldn't be able to forget if that had happened! You've got to be mistaking me for another person!

[ The color rushes back to his face as a fear different from before takes over, and the touch sends goosebumps down his arm. He mimic's Kaoru's motion to keep some distance between them without pushing the other away. This just isn't going to end well, is it. ]

[Bites his lip before leaning in towards him.] But... if it's just a remind, m-maybe... [There's a brief flash of... something in his eyes that could be construed as nervousness, but it's really the fact that his stutter was because he almost started laughing. He continues to lean in, and on his current path, he's definitely aiming to kiss Luke...]

[...which means that he's very much right up in Luke's personal space. He closes his eyes as he gets even closer, and just before their lips touch...

...he starts laughing.]

[ It takes every ounce of restraint he has to not flail in the confined space between Kaoru and the wall, thus possibly injuring them both. The only noise makes is something of a whimper, though his mind continues a very loud mantra of "AUGHAUGHAAAAAUGHWHATISTHISSSSSS" that he's too polite (and incapable) of voicing.

At least until Kaoru starts to laugh. ]

W-w-what the heck is the matter with you?! [ Now Luke has no problem bracing both hands against Kaoru's shoulders and shoving. ]

[He falls back, finding Luke's reaction even more hilarious and thus laughing even harder now.] P-priceless... the look on your face is just priceless!

[ Thus Kaoru has solidified his place on Luke's "Jerkface" list. Luke scrambles stand, with fists balled up at his sides and glares down at the other redhead. Now he feels like the one who's been taken advantage of. ] Okay, I'm sick of your games, so start talking! Where are the others?!

Haah? Others?

...

Actually, now that I think about it, Hikaru would usually come in by now to see how his prank worked out...

Yeah! My friends! The ones I was with-- [ Frowns, relaxing just a tad. ]

...so this wasn't your idea?

Why the hell would I choose to sleep on the floor?

[Kaoru takes a moment to actually take Luke in, and, oh god, does he take him in. His jaw goes slack for just a moment before...]

[...yep, there's the laughing again.] O-oh god... where did Hikaru find you. [This would be Kaoru laughing hard enough that there are tears in his eyes.] Even Haruhi wouldn't wear something like tha-... well, maybe she would, but god...

Some people are pretty weird.

[ H-Hey! What's with the laughing this time?! Luke just sulks, flushing at Kaoru's commentary and apparent amusement at what he can only assume is him. ]

Sh-shut up, dammit! I don't even know who those people are! --stop laughing! There's nothing funny about me!

[Nope, he's not stopping.] It's not even our birthday and he got me a new pet project? [And he just continues to snicker... until he starts to look with an even more critical eye.]

I mean, seriously, I can only assume those are your normal clothes; even commoners don't wear their regular clothes to bed. Although, even forgetting that, those pants... [Is that some more snickering? Kaoru reaches up to wipe some tears of amusement from his eyes.] They're way too big for you; no shape at all. And what the hell is that? [He's totally pointing at your shirt, Luke.] Come on, that look went out for girls years ago, and it was definitely never in for guys.

[ That's enough to make Luke sputter indignantly outright as he takes a step back. ] Pet project?! What are you... [ He can't help but misconstrue the scrutiny as a predator assessing its prey. Which isn't an entirely wrong conclusion to come to, just not the most accurate one. ]
